What: Paintings and sculptures of culture objects and media stars, usually bright and colorful

When: Mid 1950's to Early 1970's (But it could be argued that it's still a popular style of art)

Where: Great Britain and the United States

Why: Pop art aimed to blur the lines between "high class" art and "low class" pop culture
